My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
Why are you so far from saving me,
so far from the words of my groaning? (Psalm 22:1 NIV)
Dear God, how terrifying and awful and wondrous
is what Jesus endured and accomplished on the cross.
You had Him mutilated and vilified in our place.
He didn’t deserve this—but we did.
How could You have mercy on me,
but sacrifice the King of Heaven?
I can’t understand my redemption,
but I thank You and praise You for it.
Amen.
