The Psalm Project #35

Bible Open to Psalms

I will set before my eyes
no vile thing.
The deeds of faithless men I hate;
they will not cling to me.
Men of perverse heart shall be far from me;
I will have nothing to do with evil.
Whoever slanders his neighbor in secret,
him will I put to silence;
whoever has haughty eyes and a proud heart,
him I will not endure (Psalm 101:3-5 NIV).

Lord, thank you for surrounding me with godly friends.
I confess that I love them and am most comfortable around them.
When I am among others who hate You,
I put down my head and retreat.
Lord, change me.
Make me bold when I see and hear evil.
Make me speak out against sin when I see it.
Make me confront the liar and the gossip.
Help me condemn the oppressor.
Make me vocally one of Yours.
May people see that I am different.
May people want the relationship I have with You.
May I influence people for You. Amen.
